Background
Scope of the Assignment
- Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and semantic data models
- Enable monitoring and optimisation of last‑mile and mid‑mile delivery performance
- Translate complex operational and logistical data into clear, intuitive, self‑service reports
- Ensure reporting solutions are scalable, governed and reliable for current and future analytical needs
Day‑to‑Day Tasks
- Discovery and prototyping of analytical and reporting solutions using Power BI
- Working with 5+ years of historical data in a cloud data platform (e.g. Google BigQuery), including:
- Understanding existing data structures and pipelines
- Preparing and transforming data (Power Query / M, DAX, data modelling)
- Defining a robust semantic layer for self‑service analytics
- Close collaboration with:
- Product managers to define KPIs and metrics
- Data engineers to align pipelines and models
- Analysts and stakeholders to standardise definitions and calculations
- Development of interactive dashboards to:
- Understand effort and cost of deliveries
- Monitor and optimise delivery performance
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
- Contribution to Power BI best practices and governance, including:
- Dataset design and reuse
- Performance optimisation (aggregations, incremental refresh)
- Security (RLS), documentation and versioning
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)
- Proven experience as a Power BI Developer in a data‑rich, product or operations environment
- Strong skills in:
- Power BI Desktop (DAX, Power Query / M, data modelling)
- Star‑schema / dimensional modelling
- Building performant, user‑friendly dashboards and paginated reports
- Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data warehouses (Google BigQuery preferred)
- Experience working in cross‑functional product teams
- Self‑organised, independent, and proactive collaborator
- Solid understanding of data visualisation best practices
- Experience with Power BI Service, performance tuning, governance and security
- Familiarity with Agile ways of working
- Supply chain or logistics analytics experience is a plus
