Project Manager - Master Data Governance

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Create a clear Project Brief covering scope, objectives, dependencies and timelines
• Define team structure across business, SI and technical teams
• Establish governance and ways of working aligned to the wider programme

• Define MDG Hub scope including data domains, governance processes and workflows
• Establish the target operating model including ownership and stewardship
• Align MDG scope with S/4HANA, integration and migration design

• Ensure the SI delivers a robust end-to-end plan
• Review and challenge timelines, dependencies and deliverables
• Track progress and drive delivery across all phases

• Align key stakeholders across data, integration, functional and migration teams
• Manage dependencies and resolve conflicting priorities
• Maintain strong collaboration with SI delivery team

• Own reporting into programme governance
• Maintain RAID log and ensure follow-through
• Manage decisions, escalations and milestone reviews

• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and approvals
• Manage cross-stream dependencies
• Identify risks early and drive mitigation

• Ensure MDG is fully covered in SIT, UAT and go-live readiness
• Support cutover planning and execution
• Enable transition into the live operating model

• Maintain key artefacts: Project Brief, plan, RACI, RAID, reporting, decision log
• Ensure transparency, audit readiness and strong control

Experience & Qualifications

• 8+ years in project/programme management within ERP or technology transformations
• Experience with master data, governance or ERP implementations
• Strong stakeholder management across business and IT
• Experience managing SI/consulting partners
• Proven governance, RAID and reporting capabilities

• SAP MDG / S/4HANA experience
• Knowledge of data governance operating models
• Experience in multi-vendor environments
• Exposure to finance or enterprise data domains

• Bachelor's or Master's degree
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum (preferred)
