Success at Women in Sales Awards

Huxley Banking and Finance is proud to announce success at this year’s Women in Sales awards ceremony, which took place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Chicago on June 23rd.

Dara Lubarsky, Senior Director, was a finalist in the Professional Services Sales category, while Ginnette Harvey, Vice President of the Midwestern Region, won in her category, being named Best Woman Sales Director. Both represent brands that trade under Specialist Staffing Group (the US division of SThree PLC). Congratulations to these inspiring women!

Ginnette's Career Journey

Starting in the London office in 2006, Ginnette Harvey travelled to New York to build up the US market. She had established fantastic relationships with clients and candidates in the UK, but was intimidated by the scope of this new opportunity. Recalling her moments of self-doubt, Ginnette says “I had managers that believed in my abilities and motivated me to push past my fear and harness my strengths”. Today Ginnette is the VP of the Midwestern Region. She has helped to build the US business from a small start-up to a national enterprise with 8 offices and 400 employees. She intends to continue to nurture a culture which promotes and develops talented women, “paying forward” her own positive experiences.

Diversifying the Workspace

Sales has traditionally been a male-dominated workplace. Specialist Staffing Group strives to diversify the workspace with initiatives such as “Identity”; encouraging and mentoring women at entry-level to succeed to C-suite positions. As finalists of the Women in Sales awards, both Dara and Ginnette will continue their work in mentoring women and ensuing gender diversity in the workplace.

Through her work at Huxley Banking and Finances in New York, Dara has recognized that diversity is a major issue impacting financial institutions. Specialist Staffing Group’s success around gender, diversity and inclusion has allowed Dara to take her understanding of these issues to clients and to advise companies on how best to engage with their own gender and diversity challenges.

Specialist Staffing Group is delighted with the wonderful recognition these women have received and proud that the steps this company has taken to diversify upper management are being realized: “I am proud to work for an organization that understands the importance of recognizing achievement; it is one of our core values”, Ginnette says, “The quickest way to ‘close the gender gap’ and ‘break the glass ceiling’ is for women to support and empower one another.”

More About Identity

Identity was launched in 2011. This is a planned program that initially focused on empowering women within Specialist Staffing Group, diversifying the workspace and increasing overall awareness of gender, diversity and inclusion issues. The program has since expanded, committing to overall diversity and inclusion in the workplace, empowering all employees and creating an environment in which they are supported to succeed.
