Senior IT System Engineer

📍 Location: Brussels (near South Station) + interventions across Belgium

Project Overview

You will join a Sysadmins team responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of tailored IT solutions used in the field of critical infrastructure (rail, tram, metro systems).

You will work on a wide range of environments (on-premise, hybrid, cloud) requiring high availability, security, and continuity.

Role Purpose

As a Senior IT System Engineer (L2), your mission is to maintain, support, and improve IT systems in production, ensuring reliability and performance across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software environments

• Participate in migration projects and deployment of new environments

• Perform testing, debugging, updates, and patching

• Ensure infrastructure security and data protection

• Handle incident management (L2 support) and ensure operational continuity

• Participate in an on-call rotation

• Continuously identify and implement improvements and new technologies

• Contribute to documentation, testing, and operational processes

• Work both from the Brussels office and regularly on-site across multiple locations in Belgium

Profile Requirements

Technical Skills - Must Have

• Strong knowledge of Linux (RedHat / CentOS), including scripting (Bash, Python)

• Strong experience with VMware (vSphere, vCenter, vMotion)

• Experience in high-availability production environments

• Basic knowledge of networking (routers, switches, VPN, firewalls)

• Good command of French and Dutch
