Our client, a growing online bank, is seeking an experienced Internal Control Specialist to join their risk management team. This role focuses on enhancing the internal control framework within operational risk management, ensuring that control measures are effectively designed, exist, and operate efficiently. If you have a critical eye for detail and enjoy working independently in a small, dynamic team, this position is perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess the design, existence, and operation of key internal control measures, providing suggestions for improvement.
• Facilitate and assess the resolution of issues and incidents, improving the internal control framework.
• Support risk assessments, root-cause analyses, and the recording of process descriptions.
• Maintain and update policies, procedures, and the internal control (AO/IC) handbook.
• Collaborate closely with first-line colleagues to enhance risk management and control measures.

Candidate Profile:

• Educational background equivalent to a WO or HBO level, preferably in accountancy or (non-)financial auditing.
• 3-5 years of experience in risk and control, ideally within a financial institution.
• Knowledge of financial and non-financial processes and internal controls.
• Familiarity with GRC systems; and knowledge of LogicGate is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
• Fluency in English and at least a B2 level of conversational Dutch.
