Senior Accountant - FinTech Projects (Amsterdam)
For one of our clients active within the global online tech / FinTech sector, we are currently looking for a Senior Accountant focusing on Payments & fund flow transformation projects.
As the Senior Accountant, you will support the team in driving large-scale finance and product initiatives, ensuring accurate accounting treatment, reporting, and scalable process design across complex payment flows.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Leading and owning the accounting design, implementation, and testing of new financial products and payment flows
* Acting as a key business partner to Product, Tech, and Data teams in cross-functional projects
* Translating complex technical designs into clear accounting and reporting requirements
* Ensuring robust controls, compliance, and accurate financial reporting for new initiatives
* Supporting end-to-end fund flows (pay-in to payout) from an accounting perspective
* Collaborating with BI/Data teams to build and integrate reporting into the month-end close
* Acting as a subject matter expert for accounting topics within project environments
* Supporting and overseeing the month-end close for newly launched initiatives
* Driving continuous process improvements and efficiencies within finance operations
Profile:
* Background within Accounting / Financial Control / Audit or similar
* 5+ years of work experience within a fast-paced (Tech / FinTech / e-commerce) environment
* Experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA preferred) and data-driven environments
* Proven experience working on projects and cross-functional initiatives
* Experience within the payments / FinTech domain would be a strong plus
* Familiarity with US GAAP and month-end close processes
* Fluent in English
