Japanese IoT start-up that has regional hubs in US and UK.

Role Overview:

This is a unque role taht provide you opportunities to become a part of a fast-growing IoT startup and contribute significantly to its international growth.

The organization has its main office in Japan, but your responsibilities will primarily focus on their international operations, collaborating with various small teams globally.

Given their international scope, they regularly encounter numerous new regulations from different regions. Therefore, a key aspect of your role will involve researching local laws and regulations with external legal advisors and ensuring our internal operations comply with these standards, in coordination with relevant team members.

You may also engage in various contract management tasks, such as drafting and negotiating agreements, depending on your skills, experience, and interests.

In this position, you will closely collaborate with a dedicated legal team, gaining comprehensive exposure to various commercial legal and compliance duties.

*This role allows you to work full remote from anywhere in Japan.

Required

• Experience in contract reviewing and drafting in English (3+ years)
• Experience in compliance and reserach of laws (experience in GDPR is a plus)
• Excellent skills in coordinating with outside counsels
• Native level of English

Preferred

• Legal Qualification - Qualified UK solicitor, US attorney or Japanese Bengoshi with 3+ years either in-house or in private practice (will consider other jurisdictions too)
• Business level of Japanese
• Experience in the telecomunications industry
• Experience of working at a startup-like environment
