Transport Planner FTL | Logistic Outbound | Supply Chain

Location: The Netherlands (minimum 3 days per week on site)
Hours & contract length: 38 hours per week (temp 4 month contract with intention to internalise)

About the Role

We are looking for a Transport Planner FTL to join the Logistic Outbound team and play a key role in managing and optimizing an international European transport network.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring Full Truck Load (FTL) transportation flows between logistics hubs and distribution centers across Europe. You will work closely with carriers, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure goods are delivered efficiently, cost effectively, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate FTL transport movements between logistics hubs and distribution centers across Europe
• Source and secure suitable transportation providers for outbound shipments
• Manage transport operations from booking through execution and completion
• Monitor carrier performance and track logistics KPIs
• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, logistics hubs, and internal stakeholders
• Coordinate transport capacity and proactively resolve operational issues
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within outbound logistics operations
• Ensure compliance with internal processes, procedures, and operational standards
• Communicate daily with international transport providers via email and phone

Requirements

Required

• MBO/HBO working and thinking level
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in transport planning, logistics, or supply chain operations
• Strong command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken
• Experience coordinating transportation activities and working with external carriers
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Full time availability (38 hours per week)
• Ability to work on site at least 3 days per week

Preferred

• Completed MBO or HBO degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or a related field
• Experience within a retail, FMCG, or high volume logistics environment
• Experience negotiating transport capacity and rates with carriers
• Knowledge of SAP TM (Transportation Management)
• Familiarity with European transport networks and FTL operations
