R&I Packaging Engineer

Packaging Engineer (R&I) - Food Industry

We are looking for a Packaging Engineer (R&I) to support a leading international company in the food industry.
The selected candidate will be involved in the development and industrialization of packaging solutions for dairy products, from concept to implementation.

You will be part of an international innovation team, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure product quality, feasibility, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

* Contribute to product brief definition in collaboration with key stakeholders.

* Develop products at pilot scale and ensure successful industrialization.

* Manage and coordinate suppliers during the development phase.

* Ensure final product quality (packaging + product).

* Validate products for consumer testing (technical and sensory).

* Support or lead industrialization activities with implementation teams.

* Draft and validate technical specifications.

* Apply internal tools and processes (Innopro, Ipro View, Artemis, etc.).

* Design optimized solutions balancing cost, performance, and efficiency.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Food Law, Portfolio, Supply Chain, etc.).

Requirements

* Scientific or engineering background (minimum 2 years of higher education).

* At least 2 years of experience in the food industry (pilot or industrial scale).

* Knowledge of the dairy sector is a plus.

* Experience working in cross-functional or stakeholder-heavy environments (desirable).

* Strong analytical and synthesis skills.

* Adaptable, proactive profile with ability to manage complexity.

* Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.

* Ability to build trust-based relationships.

* Team player with a high level of autonomy.

* Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

* Fluent English and Spanish (mandatory).

Conditions

* Location: Barcelona

* Work mode: Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 remote)

* Workload: Full-time (40 hours/week)

* Travel: Occasional (short trips within Europe)

* Start date: June 2026

* Selection process: 1 interview + case study
