Senior Test Analyst (Medior-Senior) - Liège (Hybrid)

Context

We are currently supporting a client based in Liège in strengthening their QA capabilities within a mature product environment that has been evolving since 2022.

The team operates in a complex microservices architecture and recently absorbed responsibilities from an offshore team, increasing the need for strong analytical expertise and seniority.

Given recent turnover within the QA team, our client is looking to bring in an experienced Senior Test Analyst who can quickly integrate, understand business flows, and contribute to simplifying testing strategies while increasing overall quality maturity.

The role sits within Squad Legia, a team working on a critical business product requiring deep functional understanding.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive test strategy

  • Simplify existing testing processes and reduce complexity
  • Ensure efficient and scalable testing approaches across microservices

• Test analysis & design (core focus - ~50%)

  • Translate business requirements into structured test scenarios (e.g. Gherkin)
  • Identify and define relevant use cases with a strong business perspective
  • Challenge requirements and propose improvements

• Test case definition & collaboration

  • Define detailed test cases and acceptance criteria
  • Work closely with developers who implement automated tests
  • Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams

• Support automation & quality practices

  • Contribute to automation strategy (without being the primary implementer)
  • Ensure alignment between manual, analytical, and automated testing

• Environment awareness

  • Work within a microservices architecture
  • Understand dependencies across systems
  • Leverage monitoring tools (e.g. Kubernetes-based environments)

• Limited execution

  • Manual testing represents a minor part (~10%) of the role

Required Skills & Experience

Must-have

• 5-7+ years of experience in QA / Test Analysis
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to think in terms of business use cases
• Proven experience in:
  • Test strategy definition
  • Test case design (beyond execution)
  • Functional & business analysis
• Experience working in complex environments (microservices)
• Ability to write structured scenarios (e.g. Gherkin / BDD)
• Strong communication skills to interact with both business and technical stakeholders
• Autonomous, mature, and capable of quickly onboarding into an existing product

Nice-to-have

• Exposure to automation frameworks and collaboration with developers
• Experience with Kubernetes / containerized environments
• Knowledge of monitoring tools
• Experience in distributed teams or post-transition environments

• Medior to Senior professional (5-7% seniority)
• Strong ownership and accountability mindset
• Comfortable in environments with evolving processes
• Able to challenge, structure, and improve QA practices
• Business-oriented thinker, not just execution-focused

• Work setup: 50% on-site / 50% remote
• Start date: June / July (depending on budget validation)
