Senior Cloud Data Engineer

We are currently looking for a Senior Cloud / Data Engineer for a long-term opportunity with one of my clients in the financial sector, based in Brussels.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong hands-on technical expertise with leadership and architectural responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading a strategic migration project from on-premise solutions to Databricks
• Acting as the technical lead for data engineering initiatives
• Designing and developing scalable data solutions and architectures
• Mentoring and coaching junior data engineers, helping them grow their technical capabilities
• Challenging and guiding platform-related decisions and best practices
• Collaborating with stakeholders across business and technical teams

Technical environment:

• Databricks
• Azure Cloud
• Hybrid landscape (CloudEra, On-Premise & Azure)
• Apache Spark
• Kafka
• Scala (strong plus)

Profile sought:

• Extensive experience in Data Engineering
• Strong architectural mindset
• Experience leading technical projects and teams
• Proven track record in cloud migration projects
• Ability to operate in complex hybrid environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
