Project Context
Our client, a leading telecom operator in the UAE, is launching and scaling an SD-WAN managed service offering as part of its enterprise connectivity portfolio for large and mid-market customers. The focus is on driving adoption, strengthening market positioning, and accelerating revenue growth through structured customer engagement and commercial execution.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced SD-WAN Commercial Lead with a strong enterprise sales and presales background.
The role requires a commercially driven professional who can:
- Lead customer engagements
- Shape solution positioning
- Support complex deal structuring
- Drive revenue growth across priority sectors
The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen with sufficient technical understanding of SD-WAN architectures to confidently engage both business and IT stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Pipeline Growth
- Identify, qualify, and prioritize SD-WAN opportunities across enterprise accounts
- Support enterprise sales teams in advancing and closing complex multi-site deals
- Develop sector-specific value propositions aligned to customer pain points
- Improve win rates through structured opportunity qualification and competitive positioning
Enterprise Customer Engagement
- Lead discovery workshops and executive discussions with enterprise customers
- Translate SD-WAN capabilities into business outcomes (cost optimization, resilience, cloud readiness, security enhancement)
- Position managed SD-WAN against legacy MPLS and competitor solutions
RFP & Bid Management
- Lead SD-WAN-related RFP responses and commercial solution shaping
- Define solution scope, commercial assumptions, and differentiation strategy
- Coordinate with product, finance, and technical teams to structure competitive proposals
Pricing & Commercial Structuring
- Segment the customers and create relevant product packages for each segment
- Support pricing model development across tiers (per site, SLA level, managed services scope)
- Identify and drive cross-sell opportunities (security, SASE, cloud connectivity, monitoring services)
Sales Enablement
- Coach and enable enterprise sales teams on SD-WAN positioning and objection handling
- Develop playbooks, pitch materials, and sector-specific sales collateral
- Provide structured market feedback to product teams
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience selling SD-WAN within a telecom operator or managed services provider
- Demonstrated experience closing multi-site enterprise WAN / SD-WAN deals
- Strong understanding of SD-WAN commercial constructs (tiering, SLAs, managed levels, pricing drivers)
- Experience leading or materially contributing to SD-WAN RFP responses and large bid submissions
- Ability to engage confidently with CIOs, IT Directors, and technical stakeholders
- Solid working knowledge of leading SD-WAN OEM platforms (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Versa) sufficient to support presales discussions
Preferred Experience
- Experience selling SD-WAN
- Exposure to Secure SD-WAN / SASE positioning and bundled connectivity-security propositions
- Experience structuring complex commercial proposals including multi-year contracts and managed service models
